Since 1983, The Monterey Strings have
been providing beautiful string music for receptions, weddings,
corporate functions and formal concerts. Their commitment to the
finest quality makes this group the most popular string ensemble
on the Central Coast.
Their wide range of styles and tasteful selections create the perfect
atmosphere for any occasion.
Dave Dally is the first violinist, manager, arranger and a founder
of the Monterey String Quartet. He conducts the String Ensemble
at Monterey Peninsula College, is the Concertmaster for I Cantori
and Ensemble Monterey, and has been Concertmaster of the Monterey
Bay Symphony, Hidden Valley Operas, and Monterey Opera. Dave played
first violin with San Jose and Monterey County Symphonies.
Margie Dally (cello) is a founding member of the Monterey String
Quartet. She has performed with the Santa Cruz and Monterey County
Symphonies, Monterey Bay Symphony, I Cantori di Carmel, Monterey
Opera Company, Hidden Valley Operas, the Monterey Peninsula Choral
Society, and Ensemble Monterey. Margie also maintains a private
teaching studio.
Together they perform as The Monterey String Duo.
For the holiday season, The Monterey String Duo's unique arrangements
of a wide variety of popular Christmas melodies, classic Christmas
carols, and traditional classical pieces in addition to their regular
selection of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Waltzes and popular music
will add sparkle and class to your holiday event.
Also available as the Monterey String Trio (two violins and cello)
and Monterey String Quartet (two violins, viola and cello).
