Growing up near Hollywood, California,
Garratt Wilkin began acting in television and films at a very early
age. Eventually, Garratt's interest in a music career outdistanced
his acting career.
In 1999, Garratt was fronting a band called The Whiskey Ducks. As
they began to develop a fan base in Northern California, night after
night, they continually received more and more requests for Jimmy
Buffett songs. Eventually, locals began calling them "The Buffett
Band." One night, Garratt was approached by an agent and was asked
if they would perform a show singing only Buffett songs and, as
they say, "the rest was history."
Often referred to as the #1 Jimmy Buffett tribute band in the nation,
Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads have headlined fairs and festivals
throughout the country, performing with great bands such as Los
Lobos and Pablo Cruise.
Beaches, boats, bars and tropical drinks with those colorful little
umbrellas, this is what comes to mind while listening to Garratt
Wilkin & the Parrotheads perform their celebration of Jimmy Buffett
Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads core band is 6 pieces.
Additional instrumentation including steel drums, a horn section,
harmonica and pedal steel guitar can be added for a fuller sound,
up to a full 13-piece band. The full band gives the closest representation
of the Coral Reefers and creates the look, feel and sound of being
at a Jimmy Buffett concert. Garratt says, "Traveling with The Parrotheads
is a great way to meet Jimmy Buffett fans and to make new Parrothead
friends. We get such a kick out of performing for fans that become
just as much a part of the show as we are."
